Happy New Year! Hope 2013 brings you all many blessings, smiles, and laughs.
With the beginning of a new year I feel like starting over could be refreshing but who wants to start everything over? Not me. I’m not big on New Year’s resolutions either, so instead I’ve done some adjusting/tweaking and just for good measure thrown in a couple of new things. To get me started I have a new blog design. Do you like it? I’d actually love your honest opinion because I am going through that I love it, I don’t love it phase. :)
I also have a new resolve for my photography. I’ll be focusing more on it this year and to start have put together a few free Facebook cover photos for you to use. Just head over to the Rocky Coast Photography Facebook page, “like” the page, then go into the Cover Photos album and pick the format ready image you’d like to use. Easy breezy. Oh and if you have a request for one, just let me know!

This year will also see me get my price list together, finally, for seniors, family, kids, and head shots as well as for food and commercial photographs. And long-awaited prints will also be available – suitable for matte and framing; oh, and note cards too!
Have I mentioned before how much I adore WordPress? Well, I do. One of the many features I love is at the end of the year they send a wrap up which includes stats for how many views, top viewed posts, most used search term, and referrals on where folks came from to find my blog. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate all of you who come to read, peek, and comment. (Big thanks to you Anne W. as you were my top commenter this year!) Given what the top views, searches, and pages were and notes I’ve received since they stopped, I am going to start the small screen posts again. Honestly, I’ve really missed doing them. I’m a television junkie, what can I say. Plus it goes perfectly with knitting. :)
Something else new I’m starting this year is a Tumblr page. I’ve found the format there great for photography. On the Rocky Coast Photography Tumblr page I’ll post my own photos and share other photographs from other photographers that I like. For those of you not familiar, Tumblr is a cross between Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest where the pages you follow show up in your feed. That way you don’t have to visit a bunch of different sites but can go to your account (like you do with Facebook and Twitter) and all your favorite pages will have the new post there for you. So if you use Tumblr come follow me (rockycoast.tumblr.com) and let me know what your site is so I can follow you back.
January 1, 2012 – Subject: Today
And finally I have decided to do a ‘Photo A Day’ challenge with a bunch of other folks. This time though, it will follow along with topics from Fat Mum Slim. I won’t be posting the photos here every day but instead they will post via Instagram (unless they go ahead with their new policy) to my Twitter and Tumblr pages. Then once a week I’ll post my favorite photo here for you and at the end of the month will put a slideshow together of all the month’s photos. That way you won’t be inundated with a new post every day…..unless you’d like to see it daily. What do you think? For those of you who use Instagram or Twitter and want to follow me – I’m MaineKnut on both of those sites.
